BALLET CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Pre-ballet (3-4 yrs. old)
This is an introduction to ballet incorporating basic terminology with positions of the feet, arms and body.

Basic ballet (4-5 yrs. old)
This class will follow a format of an actual ballet class to include basic barre exercises and center practice. Children will also demonstrate skills and simple combinations traveling across the floor.

Ballet (Levels I -V)
The foundation of all dance forms. Body placement, flexibility, balance, alignment, strength and technique are achieved through barre and center floor work based on the Cecchetti Syllabi with some Vagonova and RAD technique intertwined.

Level II
Level III
Level IV
Level V
Physical discipline, general body awareness, and control coordinating with elementary technique and terminology.
Understanding the relationship between music, rhythm and controlled movement with proper ballet technique.  Combinations will be taught using basic steps from level I in addition to steps taught in level 2.
Requires both technical ability and strength from Level 1 and 2.  New and more complex material will be taught at an accelerated pace.  Students will begin to learn basic ballet history and develop a knowledge and appreciation of the great ballets, classical music and famous dancers.
Classes will expand on the students creative abilities through the practice of variation and repertoire from famous ballets.  The level four student will develop a poise and ability to perform confidently in front of others and have a chance to execute their own choreography skills.
An advanced class, combining skills from previous level classes and correlating steps to lengthy and complex combinations with correct technique, extensive terminology and knowledge of the art of ballet itself.
Senior Citizen Ballet
This class concentrates on body alignment, improving range of motion, flexibility, and stamina in a relaxed environment.  No experience required.
Adult Ballet
Designed for the adult who wishes to begin dance as a form of exercise or conditioning, or for the adult with already some background who wishes to continue dance as a form of recreation.
